Resurrecting this thread from the dead. I am eventually going to need some translation assistance for my new... new add-on. Which I cornily dubbed PLATES.

Probably before I go to sleep I'll come back and post up my terrible versions of the translations. Basically just need the buttons of LibPopup.lua translated.

Edit: Scratch that, I have a severe migraine and I doubt I'll get to translating tonight.

Thanks neFAST, is there any way to shorten the RaidInvite? I'm pretty sure I only gave myself space for like 12 letters. :P Like "Inviter le Raid" or something?

Thanks Carnifex, I just found out that apparently Master Loot mechanics don't exist in game. But the option exists to set it to such..

Edit: Oh and "Master" wouldn't mean "Gruppenleiter", it's the Group Loot mechanic "Master Looter". (Unless that's what Gruppenleiter means also. :P)

I've modified my code to put out bigger bars for the French version. If necessary, I will do the same for the German/Russian version.

A note about Item Quality translations:

I see you use numbers instead of pre-defined global variables:

it will be better to use global variables instead:

loot.SetMinItemQualityForLootScheme( ITEM_QUALITY_JUNK )
...

because I'm not sure, if this list is currently 0-based, or 1-based (i.e. is ITEM_QUALITY_JUNK equal 1 or 0 in the latest game versions).

Also, there is another problem - problem with translations :) Those standard Item Quality translations changed a couple of times (at least by gPotato), also, this list was "shifted" once. Here are the latest official translations which I have:

ITEM_QUALITY_EPIC ( Legendary / Легендарные / Legendär / Légendaire )
ITEM_QUALITY_LEGENDARY ( Fabled / Чудесные / ???? / ???? )
ITEM_QUALITY_RELIC ( Mythical / Реликвии / ???? / ???? )


Don't panic :) those strings are THE REAL names for those global vars, used by the game. As you can see, here is a confusion. COMMON is Uncommon, UNCOMMON is Rare, RARE is Epic, EPIC is Legendary, etc. In Russian translation here is a little bit different mess - EPIC is Legendary, LEGENDARY is Epic... This is because those translations was once "shifted". So, to have correct translations, and avoid any troubles, you better use global variables, and translations, strictly as written in this list.

Carnifex and neFAST, can you confirm that translations is this list are OK?
You can check those translations in Auction window, there is a dropdown with this whole list in one place.
And there is no German and French translations for the last 2 quality types ("Fabled" and "Mythical").

That's interesting. My ModdingDocs doesn't even have Legendary listed as an Enum. The list is 0-based, starting with Goods, which is a nil value in the case of loot schemes for the NA localization (tested it and it spat out a blank text for the loot type, accessible but not meant to be used, like master looter). So I went with 1 being Junk/Poor even though the Enum logically says it would be 0.

Thank you for including "Kick", I left it out of my own English table accidentally, but somehow remembered to put it into the Russian one. :P Left for some very entertaining testing where "Convert to Raid" ended up kicking people from the party if I was targeting them. :P

From a lootscheme stand point, Common should refer to white, Junk to gray, Uncommon to green, Rare to blue, Epic to purple, Legendary to orange. I don't believe I've seen a Relic before. (Wild guess would be Relic is red.)

Ha, I was just experimenting with the colors using LootInfo's method of replacing class values with strings. And it spat out the same thing you just did, I was sitting here going, "Wow, that's an ugly color for Legendary.."

Do y'all really have the two bottom ones as items?

Edit: Just ran the exact same test and it spat out the same numbers. However, I think my numbering system should still work out as is. Have you tried testing the add-on in a group setting and toying with the quality settings? Because 6 = orange minloot, 5 = purple minloot, 4 = blue minloot, 3 = green minloot, 2 = white minloot, 1 = gray minloot.

Ooh, also; "Заменяет обычный проигрыватель/цели/партии/животное/целевой целевых панелями."?

Yes, but it is extremely hard to obtain. And both Mint and Lemon items require at least 45 lvl.

No no no!! :) Unusually funny set of LOLs from Google.Translate! :)) Here, player is translated as "music player", party as "political party", pet as "animal" (like wild animal), and so on =))

Here is correct transtalion:

It is functional as far as i know, at least as far as i have tested.

If masterloot is on then only the Loot Master sees(and is able to pick up) loot bags, and he's the only one to get "event loot blah blah" and he should call a function "loot.SelectWinnerForLoot( rollId, winnerId )" where rollId is ID of roll that came with event "EVENT_LOOT_TO_DISTRIBUTE" and winnerId is an unique ID of player that came with EVENT_LOOT_TO_DISTRIBUTE event.

So basically you need to:

loot.SetLootScheme( LOOT_SCHEME_TYPE_MASTER )

then

raid.AddRight( memberName, RAID_MEMBER_RIGHT_LOOT_MASTER )

--So maybe it's possible to have 2-3-10 lootmasters? And leader helpers as well?

then lootmasters should catch EVENT_LOOT_TO_DISTRIBUTE

then he should decide who's gonna get the item and call

loot.SelectWinnerForLoot( rollId, winnerId )

And i did not test, but maybe it's working only in raid. I did not test groups and don't know if it's possible to make someone a loot master in group.

Are you talking from a RU client stand point?

I did numerous tests (group/raid) in the NA client and every time it just deleted the loot and destroyed the bag. The AddRight thing is unnecessary because the mechanics exist in the standard raid panels to add a Master Looter.

The point of Master Looter is that whole raid rolls become extinct, allowing only the classes or people deserving of the loot to roll/want for an item. So on top of that roll mechanics would have to be added.

I'll run some tests on if it passes itemIds before deleting and if I can reward the item to myself or others. Basically would have to create an add-on that does this.

No, no, the masterloot is a MASTER loot, a man is responsible for distributing everything (like raid leader or his loot-helper).

I don't know about "people allowed to get only their equipment", you need to check the list of players that participate in different rolls.

I could translate you everything we got in russian API about these functions.

here the first alpha:

-type /lm to aktivate the loot master

-then select only one item from the bag and tipe /l PLAYERNAME

(no mistakechecks atm, so think before doing something^^ <- this is a simple test of this lootsystem, written in less then 5 minutes, but I will developed an advanced addon of this soon)

BTW: Is it possible to open the tooltip of an item by knowing the id of this item? If not, we have to create our own itemview.
